Janna & Mark's Eclectic Wedding at Mojave East

Janna & Mark's Eclectic Wedding at Mojave East

If you ask Janna & Mark, they would tell you their February wedding day went all too fast! Janna and her bridesmaids enjoyed a pampering morning while Mark and his groomsmen enjoyed hanging out at the Summit Hotel. Although it was a cold, winter day, their beautiful ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and reception at Mojave East brought visual and physical warmth to all. Their guests were welcomed by a sign saying “let’s get weird” and the shenanigans continued until late in the evening, captured by photographer Ben Elsass. We asked Janna & Mark a few questions about the day and how their vision came together.

“Our style is eclectic as we like color and value comfort and practicality. We both like to mix and match new and old things to create our own unique style.”

Describe your wedding vision.

We wanted to represent ourselves and create a warm and welcoming environment first and foremost. Neither one of us had a strict vision before we got engaged. As we talked and looked through ideas we found, we were drawn to warm colors and found it difficult to just choose one. That led us to embracing all the colors we love and finding a way to make them all work together. Words we began using to describe our wedding style were organic, rustic and warm. We also knew we wanted to add small details that were personal to us, such as the vases for the center pieces were beer growlers from breweries we enjoy.

What details were most important to you?

The flower installation, food, entertainment and environment were on the top of our list. We knew if these things met our vision then everything else would fall into place.

Why did you choose your venue and why did you love how it came together?

We chose Mojave East because of the open, industrial feel that was still quite cozy. Another main reason we picked Mojave east was Christina, the owner, was fantastic to work with. They allowed us to make the space our own while giving valuable input of what has worked well in the past. We absolutely loved how it all came together; the space, the lights, the food, the music were fantastic, but honestly one of our favorite parts, and many of our guests’,  was the beautiful flower installation that hung over our head feasting table. The balance between an industrial wide open room with the luscious, massive, cozy installation was truly our style, and it came out better than we ever imagined.  All of these parts came together to create out perfect space.
