Erika & Zack's Classic, Traditional Peterloon Dream

Erika & Zack's Classic, Traditional Peterloon Dream

For Erika and Zack, the wedding was as much a declaration of love as it was a thanking of everyone who came to support them. Making sure their friends and family were comfortable, anticipating their needs, and making sure they had a great time was paramount for this sweet couple. They wanted to keep the style mostly classic and traditional, but infuse a few quirks to personalize their special day. Zack wore a crushed red velvet suit jacket and they had a Graeter’s ice cream truck greet their guests as they arrived for the event, all captured by Frame 805!

“With the flowers in particular, I think Yellow Canary did a great job of blending into the vibrant verdancy of mid-summer while still elevating the space and the event as a whole.”

What details were most important to you?

The venue, the flowers, the food. I also fell in love with my dress from an online post, and purchased it without ever having it tried on prior. Gutsy, but it worked out great!

Take us back through your wedding day!

The biggest concern as the day approached was the weather – Cincinnati was consistently in the mid-90s and the majority of the event was outside with no A/C available. Luckily, for that one day only it cooled down to 75 and sunny; couldn’t be more perfect! Outside of that, the event ran extremely smoothly. It’s a whirlwind, but I most appreciated getting to spend my time talking with guests and dancing with the little ones.

Why did you choose your venue and why did you love how it came together?

Zack and I met at Yale University, and the architecture of Peterloon was reminiscent of some of its Georgian-style buildings. We also loved that the building had a “life” before becoming a wedding venue and proudly displayed it. Combined with the fact it was situated in Ohio, which we both hold dear as a home, it was perfect.

With a place like Peterloon, you can’t exert your own will too strongly. You have to meld and complement what’s already there. With the flowers in particular, I think Yellow Canary did a great job of blending into the vibrant verdancy of mid-summer while still elevating the space and the event as a whole.
