Abby & Philip's Romantic, Pastel-Filled Wedding Day

Abby & Philip's Romantic, Pastel-Filled Wedding Day

Abby and Philip’s wedding day was full of rain but at Yellow Canary, we fully believe that to be good luck! After their special ceremony at the Immaculata Church, the rain cleared up just in time to have a wedding party parade (complete with a horn section!) to their reception at the Monastery. Their reception was special with lots of fun toasts, dancing, and even some karaoke, all captured by Frame 805. Read on to hear more about their magical night!

“We loved how personable all of our vendors were! The flowers especially were everything I could have asked for and more. You all really captured my vision and gave me the flowers I didn’t even know I wanted. I appreciate you all making my wedding day so special!”

Tell us a little about your wedding style.

My style was romantic and light. We had a late spring, early summer date so I wanted a lot of soft pastel colors mixed in with the elegant gold that is so abundant in the Monastery. I really based my style on the venue since the Monastery has so much character. I wanted a really traditional feel to my wedding but then when the lights when down, I wanted it to be a party which was so well executed by our live band that was even able to incorporate some karaoke at the end!

What details were most important to you?

I wanted everything to look timeless and flow so it was important to keep all the color schemes the same and have the gold chargers and napkins. By far, the centerpieces on the tables and the flowers created such a timeless and elegant feel. It made the venue come to life which was very important to me. I also loved the flower girls crowns and the seating chart! Those details were especially important.

Why did you choose your venue and why did you love how it came together?

We really wanted a venue with lots of character that our guests would be talking about our wedding for years to come. We had a couple criteria that made it obvious that the Monastery was the best choice. We wanted an easy commute from ceremony to reception and wanted to get married in the Catholic Church. When we heard we could do a parade to the reception, it just made so much more sense to choose the Monastery. We loved the idea of having all of our guests parade with us to the party. We also loved that the Monastery had a stage for our band with a large dance floor. Having a live band was an easy choice for us so having a spot for them was something we really wanted. We loved how every detail came together at the Monastery and truly couldn’t have asked for a better day.
